THE OTHER ESPRESSO KITCHEN INTEGRATION
HELLO GUYS!
My name is Dani. I am a mechanical engineer, product designer and espresso lover and I am really glad that I have found this amazing source of knowledge and you guys - you are really doing exceptional work.
Since I am not so familiar with all the electrical stuff and micro controllers, this platform is a great value for me and
anyone who wants to explore new things with espresso machines.
I want to create my own espresso machine - in its core, not to be a new espresso machine, but to fit my needs
in our family kitchen. We have two cabinet areas in wall which are not so deep to fit a regular EM.
Smart - Coffee: Programmable Espresso Machine Controller
I made a prototyping box, just to mount it in while I was wiring everything up. It helped protect it from possible shorts. I would be happy to share that, but it would be much better to wait until I have the final design ready (if you don't mind waiting a few weeks).
Smart - Coffee: Arduino Mega version

PLEASE NOTE:
The latest version of Smart-Coffee can be found here: https://www.schematix.co.nz/forum/how-to-s/smart-coffee-pcb-v1-4
Smart - Coffee: Arduino Mega Version is highly customizable software that runs on an Arduino or similar microcontroller, to control the various functions of an espresso machine.
The software can be configured to replace the factory controller functions such as:
Well, I know about Modbar, but these are crazy expensive. There is a cheaper version from Australia, espressoDECK., but it does not look as good - therefor I am aiming for a custom solution.
Rg. the piping, I am aware about that, it surely needs some heat protection etc., right now I am exploring just the idea and how it could look within this given space - must not be the e61 at the end... depends which machine I am gonna use as a starting point...
Mostly I am interested to learn how I could combine your skills and parts, software into a custom
result I am looking for. If you need some 3D CAD assist, let me know... glad to help if I can!
